Who we are...and What we do Project Help is a local non-profit that has been in Collier County for 25 years. We work confidentially and free of charge
to help people in this community, including your family, neighbors, and friends, who have become victims of crime. We
provide advocacy, empowerment and support to help these victims and survivors of crime through all phases of a traumatic crime
or sudden loss. We assist with and advocate for each victim and survivor from victimization to prosecution and beyond. We are advocates and crisis intervention counselors,
here to help those touched by crime by advocating for victim’s rights, empowering all victims with knowledge and preparation
and by counseling to help victims and their families understand the impact of the crime, and to navigate the criminal
and civil justice system.
We are Collier County’s 24/7 Crisis and Sexual Assault
Hotline. The Hotline offers immediate crisis intervention, information, and referral services as well as immediate
response to rape victims and or sudden death survivors. As Collier County’s Certified Rape Crisis Center we are first-responders
to victims of sexual assault. We respond immediately to a victim who calls, to a victim who discloses at the hospital, and
through law enforcement. From the moment we are called we are here to offer guidance and help. A survivor is entitled to a
Sexual Assault Forensic Exam regardless of their decision to report the crime to law enforcement or not. We are equipped with
an in-house forensic facility providing victim’s safety, comfort and privacy as they begin their healing process. We work closely with several
local agencies in Collier County. We are the Sexual Assault Advocates for Collier County Sheriff’s
Office and Marco Island Police Department; the crime, sudden death and sexual assault advocates for Naples Police Department;
and the Grief Advocate/Counselors for Collier County Medical Examiner’s office. We work with all survivors of homicide,
suicide or sudden death, offering individual grief counseling and grief support groups. Survivors range in age from children
to grandparents.
